Our rock breaker hire suits diggers from 1.7T right up to 10T, so it covers everything from a mini excavator on a tight residential site to a 10T machine on a larger commercial job. When you enquire, tell us the size of your digger and we will match the right breaker to it, including the correct hitch plate.
Yes. A rock breaker and a concrete breaker are the same hydraulic attachment, which is why you will see it called either name. It is also sometimes referred to as a hydraulic hammer or an excavator jack hammer. Whatever you call it, the job is the same: breaking rock, concrete and other hard materials.
The breaker runs off a single acting hydraulic circuit. If your digger is currently set up with a double acting circuit, you may need to switch it to single acting before use. Our team can talk you through this when you book the breaker hire so the attachment runs correctly on your machine.
No special licence is required to operate the rock breaker itself. You should, however, be confident operating the digger it is fitted to, since the attachment is controlled through the machine. The breaker attaches directly to the hitch on your digger, just like any other standard attachment, so it is quick and easy to fit and swap out.
