They are the same thing. A post driver, also called a post rammer, uses a heavy block known as a monkey to ram posts straight into the ground quickly and cleanly. You will see both terms used for the same attachment, whether it is described as a post driver hire or a post rammer hire.
The post driver comes with an excavator bracket to suit a 5.5T digger, which makes it a popular digger post rammer for fencing and stock yard work. It can also be mounted on a tractor using a 3-point linkage, so it works as a tractor post rammer as well. The hydraulic hoses connect quickly to the couplings on your digger boom.
Yes. A side mount bracket is available so the driver can work along orchard and vineyard rows where access is tight and a standard mount will not fit. This makes it a versatile hire for horticultural blocks as well as standard fencing and stock yard jobs.
No special licence is required to operate the post driver. You should, however, be experienced operating the digger or tractor it is fitted to, since the rammer is controlled through the machine. The attachment is hire ready from our Hastings and Napier branches.
