Dig Depth/Reach Measurements
Bucket capacity
A measure of the scale and power of the 10T Yanmar digger is its ability to shift 6 standard wheelbarrow loads of dirt with one wide bucketload. That’s a 66% increase in bucket capacity on the wide bucket of the 5.5T Yanmar digger.
How do the controls compare?
It’s easy to move between the 5.5T and 10T Yanmar Diggers as they have the same operator controls in an enclosed cab.
Other features of the 5.5T and 10T Yanmar Diggers
Both the 5.5T and 10T Yanmar Diggers feature:
- Off-set boom
- Blade
- 4 post ROPS cabin
- Fire extinguisher
- Beacon.
Both machines are available ready to hire with tilting buckets, general purpose buckets, and trench buckets. You can also choose from a similar range of attachments that are available to hire to make a tough task easier. These include pile drivers, post drivers, plate compactors, thumb buckets and concrete breakers.
While the 5.5T and 10T Yanmar Diggers have a lot in common, there are also some differences that it’s important to be aware of in addition to the variations in size and capacity.
- The 10T can either come with steel tracks or with rubber pads on the tracks – so you can choose the tracks that work best for the surface you’re working on. Rubber tracks or pads are best suited for sealed surfaces while steel tracks offer better grip for uneven terrains, hill country and wet clay surfaces.
- The 5T has a true zero tail swing whereas the 10T has a short swing radius – making it important to be aware of your surroundings when slewing the digger around near walls, fences, buildings and other structures.
