Looking back on 2025, and forward to 2026

2025 is drawing to a close and now’s a good time to catch up on everything that’s been happening at Allways Hire. It’s been a busy year and we’ve got lots to share. We’re also looking forward to building upon all that we’ve achieved this year with a packed calendar for 2026.

Any review of what we’ve achieved needs to start with a thank you to our customers. 2025 has been a challenging year economically and that’s meant busy times for everyone as we all work extra hard in a competitive market. We’re grateful to everyone for their continued business – thank you.

Let’s take a look at some of our highlights from 2025

Changes to the Allways Hire team

Having the right team is a top priority for our business because we’re focused on keeping our customers happy. 2025 saw us welcoming Gerard Woodman to our operational team, in charge of Transport and Yard Operations. Gerard is a great all-rounder and brings a background in customer service into his role – a great fit for Allways Hire.

We’ve also seen some internal changes as Oakley moves to fully focus on Master Machinery and Hugo steps into a Business Development role for Allways Hire. Hugo’s role now includes sales, marketing and continuing to manage the new Napier Yard.

Relocating our Napier Yard

In June we moved to our new, bigger Napier Yard at 30 Corunna Bay in Napier. If you haven’t had a chance to drop in and see the new set up – you can take a tour of the yard on our website with Hugo and see all the features.

Our new yard is in a great location and really easy for all our customers to access. We offer the same extensive range of equipment available to hire from both our Napier and Hastings yards.

The right equipment available for hire

We’ve continued to grow our fleet in 2025 to ensure we’ve got the right equipment for our Hawke’s Bay and New Zealand-wide base of customers. As well as making sure our fleet stays young, we’re committed to providing reliable hire-ready equipment when you need it.

More from Master Machinery

We’re finding the Master Water Cart range is always in demand. Recently rebranded the AquaMaster range, Master continues to improve upon and grow this selection of portable water cart trailers and skid tanks. Ranging in size from 1000L to 6000L and with a range of features that (depending on the model) include dust suppression, water blasters, extra long hoses, high flow pumps and easy refill valves – it’s no wonder we’ve increased our fleet to meet the demand from Hawke’s Bay and NZ-wide hire customers.

The Master Hydro Vacuum Excavator also continues to be popular. The winning combination of one-person operation and being able to get into tight spaces has made this machine a great choice for harder-to-reach jobs and digging tasks where it’s important to avoid damage to utilities, tree roots, or underground cables.

Overall we’ve increased our fleet of both Water Carts and Hydro Vac Excavators by over 10% in 2025. If you’re new to what they do and you’d like a demo – contact our team today.

We’re looking forward to 2026

We know that the needs of the Hawke’s Bay market and our customers continue to change, so we’ll be focused on staying ahead of the game in 2026. Here are some of the key initiatives we’ve already got planned.

Increasing our geographical reach

In 2025 we saw the TREC take our equipment right up the East Coast and down to the south in Dannevirke. We’re now hiring the specialised range of Master Machinery as far north as Kaitaia and as far south as Timaru. In 2026 the team at Allways Hire will continue to focus on expanding our reach for long term hires, across New Zealand.

Master Machinery – Making Easy Work of Hard Work

If you’re familiar with Master Machinery then you’ll be aware that the focus on making life easier for customers adds up to products that are always being improved. As user feedback is received; design modifications are implemented.

New equipment in 2026

Site Trailers – coming soon

We’re currently trialling new site trailers from Master Machinery. With their eye for clever design, Master are designing their site trailers for versatility and making sure they can be used in multiple ways. Conveyors – a new addition to our fleet

A conveyor is a handy solution if you’re battling a hard-to-access site and want a straightforward way to move your gear around. They’re a new idea for Allways Hire but we’ve already started researching and exploring the options. If a conveyor is something you would like to hire – feel free to get in touch and share your feedback.

Big projects mean busy times ahead

2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Hawke’s Bay construction, roading, and utility businesses. There are some big projects in play including continued TREC work, the upgrades to the Hawke’s Bay expressway, bridge rebuilds in progress, and some major housing developments. We’ll be working hard to make sure all of our customers have the equipment they need – whatever they’re working on.
