10 roading equipment hires to make a hard job easier

If you’re focused on delivering roading projects on time and on budget; you’re probably interested in anything that could save you time or money. You might get the job done with the right kit for the task, or it could be because a machine’s easier to use or keeps your team happy.

That’s why we’ve pulled together some of the benefits you can enjoy when you choose to hire from our range of roading equipment. From a massive range of compaction tools through to features that can help you protect the road surface or keep your operators cool on a hot day.

Here’s our run down of the top 10 features we think you should know about.

1. Easy for anyone to operate – the Master Grader

If not everyone on your team has years of experience, you might be looking for a machine that’s easy for anyone to use. The Master Grader is a mid-mounted tractor grader that’s been designed to deliver a great performance whatever your skill level. With easy to operate controls you can train an inexperienced operator to learn how to grade effectively, quickly.

Have you tried the Master Grader? It’s available to hire now from Allways Hire at either our Napier or Hastings branches. If you would like to book a demonstration of how great this machine is to operate: call our team today.

The Master Grader has been designed to be easy for anyone to operate.

2. Portable water: when and where you need it

In dry conditions and remote locations, a good supply of water is a must. Master Water Carts come in different sizes from 1000L to 6000L, giving you flexibility to hire the right-sized tanks for the job on hand. Don’t forget to ask for them to be filled before pick up – it’s a great way to hit the ground running on your next task.

Master Water Carts are easy to transport (hire a truck or bring your own) and easy to fill on the job. They include a large diameter filling hose and anti-contamination unit as standard on the larger units. No taps nearby? Simply hire a water pump and fill up from a nearby stream or riverbed while you’re on the job.

Master Water Carts come in a variety of sizes and give access to water remotely.

3. Move material on or off site with a truck hire

Our trucks are available in a wide range of sizes and types – giving you full flexibility to move your material in a minimum number of loads.

Need to move material with a Class 1 licence? We know that not everyone holds a Class 2 which is why we also offer smaller trucks for Class 1 licence holders. That means you can get material moving with anyone on the team who has a licence.

Find out here if you need a Transport Service Licence for your truck hire.

Our wide range of trucks means we can offer you the right size of machine for the job on hand.

4. Clean up with a Master Sweeper

The Master Sweeper is your best friend if you’re tasked with keeping dust to a minimum while you’re working. The front-mounted broom is specially adjusted to minimise the cost of wear and replacement, and does a great job of gathering up loose material on the road surface.

Master Sweepers have their own dust suppression systems fitted including a 200L water tank that weighs down light particles and minimises dust while cleaning up. With their own purpose-built trailer they’re also easy to get to any job by hooking them up to your truck or ute.

Take a look at the full spec online or check out what our customers say about the benefits of having a Master Sweeper on the job below.

“Take my word for it – it’s perfect” Russell Roads feedback on the Master Sweeper.

5. The right compactor for your job – whatever the job

Allways Hire has 18 different types of compactor and roller available to hire – and we’re always growing our fleet. That means we can help you pick the tamper, compactor or roller that matches the size and type of task you’ve got to deliver – whether it’s full replacement of a road surface or you’re doing spot work on smaller pot-holes or uneven surfaces.

Our huge range of compaction equipment also means we’ve got a massive range of features for you to choose from: from plate compactors of various sizes and weights, to remote control rollers, 3 different types of combi roller, 5 different models of double drum roller, and your pick of 3 types of construction roller.

We have a wide range of rollers available so you can choose the right features for the job you’re working on.

6. Need to make a smash?

Working in roading usually means building roads not smashing them up: but if something gets in your way you don’t want it to slow you down. Whether you’re dealing with slips, boulders, road widening or you just need to break up some concrete: our concrete breaker attachment is worth knowing about. It makes quick work out of clearing and suits 1.7T to 14T excavators.

The Rock breaker or concrete breaker attachment is great for bringing big boulders down to a better size for moving.

7. First time operators can get the job done with these roading machines

Not everyone is a skilled operator and we stock a range of roading equipment that’s easy for anyone to use and get good results. If your staff don’t have experience; talk to our team about the right equipment for the job. We can even provide a demo to show them around the controls.

From Class 1 Tipper Trucks that are great for carrying small loads and kit to and from sites, through to the easy operation of the Master Sweeper and Master Grader. We can also recommend the right excavator for your task and show you how to get great results with any of our rollers.

We have a range of machines, like this digger and truck, that are designed to be easy to use for first time operators.

8. Take care of your road surface with rubber tracks

Big digger damage is the last thing you want to deal with if you’re in the business of road repair. That’s why we have the option of rubber tracks for digger hires up to 10T in size range. Steel tracks can rip the tarseal up especially on a hot day when you are turning the machine around. Rubber tracks give you protection from damage to your road surface while you’re moving your digger around to get the job done.

Rubber tracks can stop your digger damaging the road surface – particularly useful in hot conditions.

10. Need to keep your cool?

What’s warm when it’s cold, cool when it’s hot, and keeps your team happy? An air-conditioned cab! It might not be the reason you choose a machine but you’re sure to keep your staff happy if they get to operate a machine that has one.

If you’re looking for hire machines with a cool cab and a focus on operator comfort; speak to our team or check out the Master Sweeper, our tipper trucks for hire, loaders and rollers with cabs, and many of our bigger diggers.
